Uluru Drop-off Points

The Mutitjulu Waterhole
The waterhole is nestled at the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock), one of Australia's most iconic natural landmarks. The contrast between the large red rock formation and the serene waterhole is striking. Visitors can view ancient rock paintings near the waterhole. These artworks are not only artistically fascinating but also serve as a testament to the long-standing connection between the Anangu people and the land. The waterhole is a vital water source in the arid environment, attracting various wildlife species. Depending on the time of year and day, visitors might spot birds, reptiles, and maybe even some mammals. There are designated walking trails leading to and around the waterhole, allowing visitors to explore the area's natural beauty at a leisurely pace.

Kuniya Piti
The Kuniya Piti site is set against the backdrop of the majestic Uluru. Visitors will be struck by the sheer size and the varying hues of the rock formation, particularly at sunrise and sunset when the colors change dramatically. Kuniya Piti is characterized by unique geological formations and features that are tied to its Dreamtime stories. These features are not just natural wonders but also hold deep spiritual meanings for the Anangu people. Like many spots around Uluru, Kuniya Piti offers stunning views during sunrise and sunset, with the rock changing colors in the changing light.

Mala Car Park & Walk
One of the main attractions accessible from the Mala carpark is the Mala Walk. This guided walk, often led by Anangu (the local Indigenous people) guides, takes you along the base of Uluru. It's an excellent opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of Uluru & view ancient rock art. A short walk from the Mala carpark will take you to Kantju Gorge, a quiet and serene location. The gorge is especially beautiful late in the afternoon when the setting sun highlights the rock walls. Near the Mala carpark, you'll find several sites with ancient Anangu rock art. These sites provide a glimpse into the rich history and spiritual traditions of the Indigenous people of the area.

There are picnic facilities available near the Mala carpark, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal in the shadow of Uluru.

Cultural Centre
Here you can learn about Anangu culture and the park’s natural environment through exhibits and free presentations with Anangu and park rangers. There are also displays, a visitor information desk, Aboriginal art galleries and several community-owned shops and facilities.
